Privacy Policy – Big Sky Salvage

Updated October 20, 2026

Our commitment to your privacy

This policy explains how Big Sky Salvage collects, uses, and handles personal information when you browse our website, request a quote, or place an order request. It is available through the website footer and checkout policy links.

Information we collect

Order requests collect your name, email address, phone number, shipping and billing addresses, optional VIN, selected parts and mileage, order totals, and policy-acceptance records. Inquiry forms collect your name, email, subject, and message. Our current website does not collect card numbers or CVV, and online payment processing is not enabled.

Order processing and shipping to another person

We use the information needed to review and fulfill your purchase, verify part requirements, provide support, arrange delivery, and manage returns or warranty claims. We share the necessary fulfillment details with supplying yards, manufacturers when applicable, and shipping carriers. If you provide another recipient’s details, we use those details to arrange and support delivery and confirm receipt.

Email communication

We use email addresses to respond to inquiries and send order confirmations, order status changes, and shipping or tracking updates. We do not use inquiry or order email addresses for unrelated marketing without an opt-in. Email messages are processed through Gmail and may be retained under the mailbox settings.

Website operation, analytics, and external resources

No advertising analytics or marketing signup is currently enabled. Browsing and searches send requests to our server. AWS and web server systems may process connection information such as IP address, timestamp, and requested URL to operate and protect the website. External resources, such as Google Fonts when loaded, may receive ordinary request information. We do not claim that browsing is anonymous.

Third-party sharing

We do not sell personal information or share it for unrelated marketing. We use AWS for website hosting and record storage and Gmail for internal notifications and customer communications. Order notifications can contain the contact, address, part, mileage, total, and optional VIN information needed by our team. Necessary fulfillment details may be shared with suppliers and carriers. We may also disclose information where required to meet applicable obligations, resolve disputes, or protect the service.

Security

We use HTTPS, authenticated administrator access, restricted server access, and backups to help protect records. No method of transmission or storage can guarantee absolute security. Do not submit card numbers, CVV, passwords, or other sensitive payment information through inquiry forms or email. Payment-provider integration will be described here if introduced.

Browser storage

Local storage remembers your cart, delivery choice, and latest order summary. That summary does not include contact details or addresses. You can clear browser site data to remove local records; this does not delete server-side orders.

Retention and your choices

Order and inquiry records remain on our server until removed by the owner, subject to business and recordkeeping needs. Email copies and backups may remain under their respective retention settings. Contact us to request access, correction, or deletion. Information needed for outstanding orders, disputes, or required records may be retained. If marketing is introduced, its consent and opt-out options will be explained before enrollment.

Children’s privacy

Our website is intended for adult purchasers and is not designed to attract children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can review and address the request.

Updates and contact

We update this policy as our services or information handling changes. Contact Big Sky Salvage using the details below with privacy questions.
